How does it work? Every creator, every story, every project, every stage of development is wildly different. When you engage me we'll talk first so I can understand you, your project and your needs. We'll then agree an approach - one-off or short term input, or my ongoing involvement.
What do I offer?
Story + Strategy. A fast turnaround read + written report + follow up Zoom/phone discussion of a project at any stage of development. I advise you why the story might not be working, and how to work with the writer/s moving forward. Fee on request.
Story 101. Screenplay/treatment read + development meeting (Zoom, phone or face to face) + follow up notes. An effective development injection into your narrative's strengths and issues at any stage. I talk to you once I've read your work and before providing notes, because through asking questions about your story, you and your intent, I can best help you reach into the heart of your story and move forward. Fee on request.
Mini script edit. Read + development meeting + notes + revised draft read + follow up development meeting. In depth, cost effective support.
Genre specialist. Not sure if your narrative is a thriller, a psychological thriller or a drama with thriller elements? A rom com or a coming of age with a love element? I can help you identify and shape your project’s genre to connect with its audience and boost its market appeal. Fee varies.
When should you hire me?
Early stage Treatment or first draft stage, when we will explore the heart of your idea, story design, character arcs, genre and plot.
In development You've just been funded or have been in development for a while. You need a fresh pair of eyes and a candid, constructive approach.
Pre Production You need story / script solutions, fast, with an experienced script developer who understands the pressures and needs of this stage.
